KELGA Boss Vows To Improve Roads Network
The chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Welendu Amadi has assured the people of the commitment of his administration to improve upon the already existing roads network and construction of market stalls for the rural dwellers.
He also pledged to improve standard of living of the rural dwellers through micro-loan scheme.
In a statement signed by the Council Information Officer, Mrs Obele Ekine, said Hon. Amadi gave the assurance at the weekend in Isiokpo shortly after his farmiliarisation tour of thirteen wards in the local government area.
He embarked immediately on projects that have direct bearing on the need of the rural dwellers.
He commended the overwhelming support given to the People Democratic Party (PDP) during the April local government election, insisting that he will justify the confidence reposed in him to serve.
However, he advised the people to be law-abiding citizens and avoid anti-social vices in order to achieve set goals of the new administration in the area.
Hon. Amadi used the opportunity afforded by the tour to thank Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for providing the council developmental landmarks like roads network, primary healthcare programme, among others in the area.
Earlier, His Royal Majesty King Blessing Wagor (Wagidi XL) assured the chairman that the people of Isiokpo had prepared with unequivocal resolution to join hands with the council and the state government to move the area forward in terms of development and security.
Wagor reminded the chairman that, Isiokpo communities have some infrastructural challenges like potable water, electricity, roads network, standard model market among others.
He advised the council boss to create an enabling environment for the establishment of a cottage industry to provide employment opportunities for young graduates and skilled youths in the area.
He further assured the chairman of a peaceful tenure and prayed that God would grant him wisdom to pilot the affairs of the council to greater heights.
