Ikuru Lauds Amaechi On Successful Hosting Of NSF

Rivers State Deputy Governor and Chairman, Local Organising Commmittee (LOC) of the recently held 17TH National Sports Festival, Engr. Tele Ikuru has commended the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his efforts in ensuring that the State hosted and topped the medals table at the Games.

Engr. Ikuru gave the commendation yesterday during the Thanksgiving Service for the successful hosting and winning of the Festival at the Christ Apostolic Church, Diobu Port Harcourt.

The Deputy Governor who is the Vice Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) of the Games said God as well as the support and keen interest of the Governor propelled him and members of his committees to take the whole activities involved in the programme  serious.

He thanked the clerics for their prayers and moral support, lauding all the LOC members, athletes and officials of all the sports associations of Team Rivers for putting in their best to ensure that the state.

Engr. Ikuru was particularly thankful to God for ensuring that their assurance to Nigerians that the State is now free from the activities of criminals and kidnappers is true, adding that “our visitors during the Games are now our ambassadors on this fact”.

Earlier in his homily taken from Psalm 100:4, the Chairman of Christ Apostolic Church, Rivers-Bayelsa District Co-coordinating council, Pastor  Godwin Osuigbo extolled the ingenuity of the members of the LOC and the State Governor in recognising that the victory and success the State achieved during the Games were not   merely because of the physical efforts of man but by divine arrangements, calling on all Nigerians to emulate them by ascribing their success to God’s plan, stating that “we need to give thanks to God for whatever He has done for us.”

He charged the people who won laurels during the Games to ensure they also win spiritual laurels at the forthcoming spiritual sports festival of the Kingdom of God by worshiping Him”.
