Football: Anambra Blames Loss To Adamawa On Indiscipline

The Coach of Team Anambra at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Port Harcourt, Francis Nwosu, has ascribed his team’s 0-2 loss to Team Adamawa to lack of discipline.

Nwosu told our correspondent  yesterday in Port Harcourt  that his team had several opportunities to kill their Adamawa opponents but could not convert their chances.

While commending his team’s approach to the game, he was particularly perplexed that they could not translate their coordinated approach into goals.

As if to make matters worse for Team Anambra, one of their attackers Stanley Ihezue got his marching orders from referee Ere Dokubo for retaliating after he was brought down.

His Team Adamawa opponent, Midi Samson who committed the initial offence also got booked by the referee.

The ill-tempered match was preceded by a clash of colours with both teams dressed in yellow jerseys but Team Adamawa had to concede since Team Anambra was the home side.

Ihezue’s 70th minute expulsion from the match was amply exploited by Team Adamawa who used their numerical advantage to score two quick goals to win the match.

“All hope is not yet lost we can still turn this loss to our advantage now that our back is against the wall, ‘’Nwosu said.

Bello Mohammed, coach of Team Adamawa was highly pleased with his team’s victory over their Anambra opponents.

“They had the match under their control and would have won but for providence.

“I say well done to my team for starting the competition on a very bright note.

“We must ensure that the momentum we have generated would be sustained until possibly the final match, ‘’he said.
