Boko Haram: Calls For Pragmatic Measures
The National Coordinator of the National Think Tank of Nigeria, Dr Steve Azaiki has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to take pragmatic measures that will ensure that the financiers and supporters of the Boko Haram Islamic sect are brought to book.
Dr Azaiki who spoke to The Tide in an interview at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa disclosed that the Think Tank is preparing a round table on security to be presented to the President.
Stressing the need for Jonathan to take serious decision on the present security situation in the country, he said although the situation in Borno does not call for the declaration of state of emergency, the people of the state should support in maintaining peace.
He advocated total revolution in the power sector that would provide electricity to all the parts of the country, pointing out that the Think Tank had a round table to look at the priority areas the president must tackle in his first one hundred days.
Azaiki said: “There should be a programme that will make the whole country have electricity. It should be a revolution in the power sector and to be followed by security!!
