Be Patient With Jonathan’s Policies, Industrialist Tells Nigerians

An Onitsha-based industrialist, Chief Obinna Arinze, has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Goodluck Jonathan on his economic policies.

Arinze told journalists on Monday in Onitsha, Anambra, that the policies would definitely bring about prosperity in the future.

He said that the President’s economic policies and his doggedness to boost power supply were indications that he understood the problem of the country.

“President Jonathan has made very important moves that are very crucial to the development of our country which are evident in the results they are yielding.

“He is not oblivious of the fact that the key to industrialisation is inherent in the provision of constant power supply.

“Talk of the road map he initiated in the power sector which has in no small measure increased the current megawatts of power being generated in the country,’’ he said.

The industrialist said that the President was enjoying a lot of goodwill from international bodies and personalities.

According to Arinze, these moves are necessary to get the needed international investment and funding for the huge development in the power sector.

“Even, the world leaders, including President Barack Obama of the U.S. and others, all agree that Nigeria has never had it so good before.

“And they repose a lot of confidence on him not only to move the country forward but also to lead development of the ECOWAS sub-region,’’ he said.
