APGA Vows To Provide Quality Governance
Chief Cletus Nwaka, the Chairman of APGA in Imo, has given an assurance that the party will fulfill its campaign promises to improve the socio-economic well-being of the people.
Nwaka said this last Friday in Owerri, while commenting on the choice of commissioners and special advisers to Governor Rochas Okorocha.
He expressed confidence in the caliber of the commissioners and special advisers, who were recently sworn-in by the governor.
“The paty is satisfied with the choice of the commissioners and special advisers. The Governor has a good team that will help him to fulfill his campaign promises to the people.
“The Governor assembled credible men and women, who have excelled in different fields of human endeavour, locally and internationally, so the APGA-led administration will fulfill its promise to transform the lives of the people.”
Nwaka cited the implementation of the free education policy of the government as “an eloquent testimony” of the Governor’s commitment to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
He further explained that the government had set the machinery in motion to revive some of the moribund industries, including the Avutu Poultry, Ada Palm Plantation and Standard Factory Owerri.
He said that the revitalisation of the industries would help in no small measure in providing job opportunities for unemployed youths in the state.
He expressed support to the current review of the 10,000 jobs offered by former Governor Ikedi Ohakin during the last days of his administration, saying that “the present administration discovered that such vacancies did not exist’’.
Nwaka described the much-touted youth unemployment as a creation of the mind and challenged them to “be creative and innovative” to be self-employed, rather than search endlessly for scarce white-collar jobs.
