Former Vice Chairman Darts Federation of Nigeria, Engr Wole Oke has dismissed the notion that Darts is an elitist sport. He argued that the sport is not for elites, and saying so is borne out of misconception.

Engr Wole Oke explained that the misconception that Darts is elitist arose from the fact that the sport evolved from clubs, and early competitions were purely inter-club.

Looking at the excitement the sport elicited at the ongoing National Sports Festival, the former Vice Chairman of Darts Federation of Nigeria said the profile of the sport is on the rise.

Wole  Oke, who attended the Garden City Games as a member of the Kwara State contingent is thrilled with the number of young men and women who participated in the event. He said given the involvement of youngsters in the sport, the future of Darts is assured and bright.
