‘Akwa Ibom ‘ll Obtain More Gold Medals’

The Director of Sports for Akwa Ibom State, Coach Anniedi Dickson has said Akwa  Ibom State would keep up the pace to ensure the State climbs up the medal tables by obtaining more gold medals in the on-going 17th National sports Festival in Rivers State.

According to Coach Dickson, Akwa Ibom present position on the medal table was expected because athletes and officials are properly motivated and coached to deliver medals back to the State at the end of the game.

He said athletes have been competing favorably in most sports but have shown

good strength in weight lifting and other sports which has fished the state medals.

The director who was happy that the games were being hosted by a brother Niger Delta state said athletes felt at home and that most of the facilities were of international standard to enable athletes compete without much hassle.
