After going down 0-1 to France in their opening game at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, forward Perpetua Nkwocha says the team must now commit to attack in their next game against champions Germany, tomorrow.

Nkwocha was uncharacteristically subdued as Nigeria played a conservative defensive game, but she says that will have to change.

“We hadn’t planned to defend as much as we did, but nothing is lost yet. We were not intimidated by the number of goals France had scored in their preparation games.

“We’ll now have to attack more against Germany, and we’ll also have to play more as a team and talk to each other more on the pitch.”

Meanwhile, in effort to ensure that the Falcons are in the right mood for their make or mar encounter tomorrow and against Canada, Super Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia is expected to arrive Germany and meet with the players.

According to Siasia, who has been on a short vacation in the United States, ‘the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Aminu Maigari has asked me to come to Germany to support the players and officials ahead of their match against Germany”.

Also, Maigari is dangling the promise of a double bonus to the team to motivate them to victory against the hosts and defending champion.

The Falcons will be assured of about $4,000 each if they win as the squad had been on a win bonus of  $2,000.

The opening day loss to France has left the Nigerian women needing a result in tomorrow’s confrontation.
