RSESA Assures On Enforcement Of Environmental Laws
The Chairman, Rivers State Environmental Sanitation Authority, Mr. Isoboye Jack, has declared his commitment towards the enforcement of all the environmental laws in the state.
Speaking with newsmen during the celebration of this year’s World Environment Day in Port Harcourt, Jack noted that although there were laws concerning obvious aspects of environmental issues, they were hardly enforced and assured that, “with me on board, we are going to enforce these laws, particularly as it concerns refuse disposing time and also using the receptacle properly”.
He said the task of enforcing these laws and achieving a cleaner, healthier environment in the state would not be an easy one but believed that with the provision of the right tools and the cooperation of all and sundry, the authority would be able to achieve a good result in less than one year.
Jack also disclosed that the authority was trying to put up some strategies and policies to enable it face its numerous challenges. Some of them are ensuring adequate training of the revenue drive by the members of the public.
He solicited the cooperation and support of the members of the public towards the achievement of the authority’s aim of making the state a filth-free state.
