The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Mr George Feyii, has pledged to take the task of governance to greater heights under the current dispensation.

Speaking at meeting he held with the Management staff of his office shortly on assumption of duties, Mr Feyii urged them to give the maximum support and cooperation required to ensure effective performance of their duties.

He noted that the Civil Service remained the engine room of government because of its role in policy formulation and programme implementation, pointing out that, there exist critical aspects of work in the office of SSG that must be done with precision and commitment.

The SSG reminded them of their collective aspiration to work as a team in furtherance of the objectives of the Governor Amaechi-led Administration.

Feyii, however, enjoined the staff to be ready to make sacrifices even in unpleasant circumstances, stressing that such efforts are all channelled toward achieving desired results.

He assured them that he would make the best use of the personnel available to contribute in moving the office in the right direction.

Earlier in his speech, the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau in the Office of the SSG, Mr Sovens Okari, has on behalf of the Management pledged the support and co-operation of all staff to deliver the best of their service and congratulated the SSG on his appointment.

The Permanent Secretary, Cabinet, in the Office of the SSG, Ms Kadilo Brown, and the Director of Administration, Sir Augustus Fubara, were among officers present at the meeting.
