LG Boss To Consolidate On Dev Programmes
The Chaiman of Abua/Odual Local Government council, of Rivers State, Hon. Udisien Odum, has pledged to consolidate on his developmental programmes, which he started in his first tenure.
The chairman who made the remarks at the formal swearing in of the newly elected councillors in Abua Central stated that the future of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area depends on the performance of the council in the area of empowerment and infrastructure, if PDP will come back in 2015. But if we fail the people, the Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and indeed any other party may take over.
On petitions trailing his administration, the chairman said petition is normal in a democracy, so long as it is, is part of the beauty of democracy, constructive, so we should not use that to judge any person.”
The chairna urged the newly sworn in secretary of the council Mr. Oyekuodie Uko to work together with the councillors and promised to operate an open door policy.
Speaking at an inaugural sitting shortly after he was elected leader of the legislature, Mr Idira James commended his colleagues for electing him.
“It is because you want me to be the leader that is why I am a leader today, and I want to promise that we should work with one spirit to achieve the desire goals.”
James urged them to understand that they have the task to promote and bring development to their wards and villages responsibility.”
Earlier, Hon. Enegheni Aselemi, Councillor representing ward 4 who spoke on behalf of her colleagues said that though they where not the best from among the people but would do their best to represent their people accordingly.
