Ikuru Explains God’s Favour On People
Rivers Sate Deputy Governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, says God uplifts selected people to exalted positions on trust in order to assist the majority of the people.
Egr. Ikuru said this when the Old Boys Association of the Kalabari National College, Buguma, 1985 set fondly called “KANACOL’85,” paid him a Courtesy Visit in Government House, Port Harcourt.
He pointed out that people can _overcome their challenges easily when they are shared with others, stating that this process- of sharing challenges enabled the 1985 set of the college to excel, reiterating that his position is not only for himself and family but also given him on trust for his community, friends, State and the nation.
“I am not the most brilliant, handsome or worthy but by the Grace of God Almighty who has placed me here on trust to serve the nation, State and friends,” he said, assuring that he would continue to assist the people whenever he is called upon to do so.
Earlier, the President of the Old Boys Kana Col’ 85, Mr. Iwoyeofori Wokoma, said that the challenge facing the Association is on how to bring back the fame of the college, noting that the school Iacked teachers, laboratory equipment and other necessary amenities, appealing for assistance.
Mr. Wokoma also pointed out that some of their colleagues were not employed and unable to cope with life challenges, urging the Deputy Governor to help them secure employment, appointments or contracts when the opportunity occurs.
