Enugu Assembly Constitutes Standing Committees

Enugu State House of Assembly has constituted an eight-man committee to select members of the 21 standing committees in the Assembly.

Speaker, Eugene Odo announced this during a plenary session of the House on Thursday in Enugu.

Odo said the need to constitute the committees became obvious following the dissolution of the former committees of the fourth Assembly.

“Your assignment is very serious and urgent because your job to select members of the 21 standing committees is important to effective operations of the House,” Odo said.

“These committees will help to give direction to House deliberations in the next four years, as we expect robust and fruitful contributions in the 5th Assembly, “ Odo said.

The committee is headed by the Speaker.

The other members are Mr. Anichukwu John, Mrs Chika Eneh, Mr. Sunday Udokoye and Mr. John Kelvin Ukuta.

The rest are Mr. Mike Onyeze, Mr. Joseph Agbo and Mr. Mathew Ugwu-Nweze.

The committee will submit its report in two weeks time.
