Director Canvasses Support For Team Rivers

As the 17th National Sports Festival comes, on stream in Port Harcourt, Rivers people have been urged to turn out in their numbers to support team Rivers and showcase their gift of hospitality to their visitors who have arrived the state from different parts of the Federation.

This would no doubt go a step further to underline the traditional hospitable nature of the people.

This was the position of the Rivers State Director of sports Sir Daobu Harry in an interview with Tidesports on Monday.

He said that Rivers athletes were determined to emerge tops at the end of the day but need the support of fans to realize their potentials during competitions the assured that Rivers Contingents are going to top the medals table.

“We are ready to showcase ourselves to the world that we are capable of topping the medals table at the festival”, Rivers Coaches said.

However. Expectations of keen competitions are high as athletes from different states are already, boasting their readiness to win the Garden City Games 2011.
