Bank Donates Computers To Agric Ministry
Fidelity Bank Plc has donated two sets of computers to the Cross River Ministry of Agriculture under the state’s Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme (CACS).
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Sam Ekpe, who received the computers on behalf of the Commissioner, Dr Sandy Onor, commended the bank for the gesture.
Ekpe said that more than 800 farmers had been documented for the scheme.
He said that the ministry was partnering with the bank in the disbursement of the N1 million loan accessed from the N200 billion provided for farmers by the Federal Government under the CACS.
He urged the beneficiaries to invest the loan in approved projects, so that they could pay back when due to enable others to benefit.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of the scheme, Mr. Emman Abung, said that the computers would make documentation of the farmers easier.
He urged other corporate bodies to emulate Fidelity Bank in moving agriculture forward in the state.
Also speaking, the Agriculture Officer of the bank, Mr. Joseph Agagu, thanked the ministry for accepting the offer and promised that the partnership would continue.
He also urged beneficiaries of the scheme to always repay their loans on time to ensure sustainability of the scheme.
