17th NSF: Rivers Weightlifting Association Set To Deliver Medals
Assistant Coach of Rivers Stat Weight lifting Association Coach Briggs has deplored the association’s readings to win laurels and dominate the event in the forthcoming 17th National Sports Festival scheduled to commence later his month in Port Harcourt.
Coach Briggs, mde this declaration in an exclusive interview with Tidesports at the state’s weightlifting gymnasium at the Alfiked Dielte Spiff Sports Complex, Port Harcourt.
According to him, the organization has intensive training session and now poised to win laurels for the state at Garden City Games 2011.
He explained that the state weightlifting association is presently in camp putting finishing touches to their training to ensure success t the NSF when it finally kicks this month.
He thanked the state governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi for sending the state contingents into the third phase of camping early enough, ahead of the commencement of the festival.
“I thank the state governor for giving the necessary support enable the athletes into early camping in preparation for the task ahead,” he said.
It would be recalled that Rivers clinched 10th position having won 17 golds 31 silver and 42 bronze at the KADA 2008 games held in Kaduna.
However, the state is targeting hosting to win in the 17th edition it is billed to host from the 27th of this month.
