Rotary President Lauds Amaechi’s Leadership Style

The President of Rotary International, Mr Ray Klinkginsmith, has described the leadership style of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a determined effort to rally support for the upliftment of society.

Mr Klinkginsmith represented by Dr Varinder Singh said this yesterday when he led members of the Rotary family in District 9140 on a courtesy visit at Government House, Port Harcourt.

He said he was impressed with the mission statement of the Amaechi administration which places premium on providing credible service to mankind.

Reminding the Governor that the policy thrust of his administration tallies with the objectives of Rotary, the  President’s representative said he was encouraged by the governor’s commitment and urged him to keep the faith by being “your brothers’ keeper”.

Mrs Klinkginsmith said he was not surprised that Governor Amaechi was doing well in governance because he had to set a mission for himself on assumption of office.

In his response, Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi expressed satisfaction with Rotary International’s interest in providing humanitarian services.

The Governor, who described Rotary as an agent of God because of its role in saving lives of the ordinary people, said the organisation render useful services to society in assisting government and religious bodies.

He thanked the Rotary International President for coming to Nigeria and Rivers State in particular and commended Rotary members for their spirit of voluntary giving which makes them their brothers’ keepers in providing service to mankind.
