Rivers HOS Cup Resumes Today With Two Matches

After a one-week break as mark of honour to late Sunny Ikpa, the player of Government House team, who died after their first round match with Ministry of Local Government and  Chieftaincy Affairs on the 13th of this month, the 2011 edition of Rivers State Civil Service Football Competition, HOS Cup, resumes today.

According to the organisers, the competition will recommence where it left off with matches scheduled for last Monday at the Sharks Football club stadium, Port Harcourt.

Consequently, two matches will be decided today. The Ministry of Social Welfare team and their Office of the Head of Service counterparts will take to the pitch at 4p.m for the first match, while Ministry of Health and Ministry of Works tango afterwards.

Tomorrow at the same venue, last year’s finalists Ministry of Special Duties will take their turn, against Ministry of Urban Development in the first match, and the Office of the Deputy Governor’s team takes on the States Audit Department team in the second match of the day.

Winners of today’s and tomorrow’s matches will join other qualifiers for the second round stage hostilities.

Already, 10 teams, Ministries of Agriculture, Culture, Power, Justice, Energy, Commerce and Industries, Education, Environment, Government House and Information and Communications.
