Chairman of the Nigeria Civil Service Union in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Amaechi Uchechukwu has urged the federal government to create jobs for millions of unemployed graduates in the country.

In a statement made available to The Tide  he said more than 10 million Nigerian young graduates were unemployed.

According to him, government should create jobs to enable them practice their skills, a situation which, he said, would check crime in the society.

Uchechukwu commended President Goodluck Jonathan for addressing the issue of pay disparity in the public service and signing the new minimum wage bill into law.

He said the law would go along way in enhancing productivity of Nigerian workers, and urged the president to make efforts to improve electricity supply to ensure higher productivity in the economy.
