Jonathan Hails Flying Eagles, Assures Of Support

President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday congratulated the Flying Eagles on their victory in the finals of the 2011 African Youth Football Championships played on Sunday in Johannesburg.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Ima Niboro, said that Jonathan praised the artistry, doggedness and resilience shown by the Flying Eagles in their hard-fought 3-2 victory over Cameroon’s under-20 team.

The statement quoted the President as saying that the Flying Eagles had made the entire nation proud with their exploits and ultimate triumph in South Africa.

He assured the team and its handlers that the Federal Government will continue to give them the necessary support in their quest to win more laurels for the nation.
