Chidoka Urges Youths To Imbibe Road Safety Culture
The Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Osita Chidoka, has urged youths to imbibe road safety culture as part of their social responsibility.
Chidoka gave the advice in Abuja at the grand finale of Schools’ Competition organised by the Road Safety Officers Wives Association (ROSOWA) as part of measures to promote child safety on the road.
He urged the association to take the message of safety to children at the communities, saying that there was the need to bring them together for national development.
The President of ROSOWA, Mrs Chidima Chidoka, said the competition was organised to create safety consciousness among school children.
She said that such consciousness was necessary to make future generations road safety conscious citizens.
“If they (children) know what road safety is, we are going to be growing a generation of road safety conscious citizens,” Chidoka said.
She said the message would be taken to the grassroots and called for the formation of road safety clubs in schools to create safety consciousness among children.
The Tide sources reports that nine schools, including primary and secondary schools in the FCT, participated in the grand finale, which featured singing competition and drama on road safety.
