The two factions of PDP in Abia have resolved their differences and agreed to work together for the victory of the party in the State.

The factions, led by Governor Theodore Orji and Chief Ikechi Emenike, met in Umuahia and agreed that the party was a big umbrella that could provide cover for the factions.

A six-point communiqué signed by the duo and made available to newsmen last Tuesday, reads: “The PDP is a big umbrella and its victory at all levels is our utmost desire.

“We hereby call on Abians to come out en-masse to support and vote for all the PDP candidates.

“Without prejudice to any case pending in court, we believe our victory is of utmost importance and will bring Abia into the mainsteam of Nigerian politics.

“We hereby jointly invite all and sundry to be part of this unity for the sake of our state,” it stated.

Emenike had dragged Orji and the PDP to court over the dissolution of the State Executive Committee of the party.

Emenike further challenged the candidature of Orji at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he lost and vowed to pursue the matter further.
