Igwe made this known at the weekend during an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the state Taekwondoists have exhibited discipline and as well put up a great performance during the competition, adding that, the athletes should sustain the tempo in their subsequent engagements.
He said that about eight West African countries participated in the tournament including the Army and Police forces and other Taekwando clubs across the federation.
“I can assure you that the Taekwondoists we have in the state are good and are ready to face the challenges associated with the sports,” he maintained.
Rivers finished tops in the tournament while Kana and Edo states placed second and third, respectively.
It would be recalled that Rivers Taekwondo Association also emerged overall winners in the 2009 edition held in the country.
