Registration For Golf Tourney Opens In PH
Registration has commenced for the 8th edition of the Amateur Golf Tournament tagged “LAMBIC SCRABBLE 2011” for all golf clubs in the country. The registration which commenced on Monday this week would end on the 18th of this month.
Loveday Deemua, the chairman of the organising committee made this known in an interview with Tidesports on Monday, in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the tournament which would last for two days will have restricted appearance of invited professionals.
He disclosed that the registration fee of eight thousand naira will be for a team of four players.
“The sponsor of the competition, Chief Ignatius Okeahialam is poised to promote golf and sports in the country.
We all know that sports development is a collective responsibility and we cannot allow government to carry the burden alone”, Deemua said.
The chairman explained that this year’s competition would attract notable golfers in the country to Air assault golf club, venue of the competition.
He used the opportunity to call on all golf clubs to register on time as late registration would not be entertained.
