Nine Sea Pirates In Police Net
Police in Rivers State have arrested nine persons suspected to be sea pirates terorising sea fairers along Abonnema waterways.
The suspects who are indigenes of Ifoko Community in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state were identified as Ambassador Tamunotonye, Daboye Davis, Opufaa Agberenga, Tenepeleba Fubara and Edward.
Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Rita Inoma Abbey who confirmed the story, said further investigation also resulted in the arrest of two other members of the gang-Eperemuwe Audar and Waripamo Karibim who during interrogation confessed to have hidden two AK 47 rifles in Bayelsa State.
In another development, security operatives attached to Okwuzi Police Division on Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area have also arrested two suspected robbers.
The PPRO who listed the names of the suspects as Prince Izime and Anayo Mbama, said the suspects are from Mgbede in ONELGA. According to her, the suspects have been terrorizing and robbing the people in the area, adding that investigations are on top gear to arrest the other fleeing suspects.
Meanwhile, security operatives have arrested one Femi Bernard Aluako over in alleged cases of fraud one of the new generation banks to the tune of N500,000.00 deposited into his account by an unsuspecting member of the public.
According to police source, Femi had earlier collected the cash sum of N11.9 million from two of his victims, promising to supply petroleum product but failed.
Femi who claimed to be a staff of Total Oil Company and crude oil broker, resides at No 25 Ada George off Rumuoke Street, Port Harcourt, but hails from Ozoro Community in Isoko Local Government Area of Delta State.
