Nigeria’s Olympic Games qualifier against Equatorial Guinea will be held in Benin City, just one day before the Super Eagles take on Ethiopia in a 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier in Abuja.

NFF sources told disclosed  that the game had been confirmed for the Edo State capital, home state of team head coach Austin Eguavoen.

“The board will meet to ratify the decision this weekend, but the Olympic qualifier will be played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City,” Tidesports source was informed.

Reports have emerged early this week that Eguavoen has trimmed his squad to 25 ahead of that qualifier this month, but the coach said that he had done no such thing.

“My final list is still at least one week from being ready,” Eguavoen said on Monday night. “I don’t know where that has come from, but it is not true.

“There are a few more players we intend to look at, and by next week, we will have the final list ready.”
