HDP Offers Platform For Ogoni Referendum

The Hope Democratic Party (HDP) has offered its platform for the actualization of the Ogoni referendum, as part of the Ogoni struggle for self determination in Nigeria.

Rivers State chairman and spokesman of the party, Chief Hycienth Namadam disclosed this in Bori, at the party’s campaign at Ken Saro-Wiwa Peace and Freedom Centre in Bori, headquarters of Khana local government area, Rivers State.

Chief Namadam said the party has a dual mandate, which is to bring in good governance in Rivers State, and to actualize the Ogoni Referendum.

He called on the people of Ogoni to vote massively for the party as any vote casted for HDP would have dual value.

He also called on the people of Rivers State to vote massively for the party as, HDP is a symbol of restoration of the socio-economic and political development of Rivers State.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, the governorship candidate of the party Dr. Goodluck Diigbo, said the party was poised to usher in a participatory system of governance in Rivers State.

He said if voted into power as Governor of  River State in the April polls, he would adopt the bottom up approach of governance to ensure rapid economic transformation in the state.

By its strategic position and global relevance, he said Rivers State has the potential of being an “investor’s dream, and economic eldorado”.

As part of his vision to develop the state, Diigbo said he would employ the secret of how America and Europe developed their states for the rapid growth of Rivers State.

Earlier the National Chairman and Presidential candidate of the party, Chief Ambrose Owuru, thanked the people of Ogoni for their massive support for the party.

He said it was justifiable for an Ogoni son to be the next Governor of Rivers State and called on other ethnic groups in Rivers State to vote for the party in the April polls.
