Ex-Commissioner, Perm Sec, Others Bag Awards

Former Commissioner for Works in Rivers State, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Sir Promise Njiowhor with four other staffers have received the ministry’s meritorious award.

The former commissioner received the ministry’s Excellence Award, while Sir Njiowhor got Administrator’s Award, while the four others bagged the staff merit award at a ceremony held on Monday in Port Harcourt at the Secretariat Complex.

Peterside who expressed gratitude for the award tasked the staffers in the ministry to be more dedicated to work by displaying integrity in their daily dealings.

He lauded them for the support given him during his tenure as commissioner, noting that it gave him the impetus to achieve whatever he did in the ministry.

Peterside dedicated the award to God and Governor Amaechi, who according to him gave him the opportunity to serve the state and the people.

The House of Representatives candidate for Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro federal constituency under the umbrella of the PDP lauded the permanent secretary for his commitment and urged staffers not to relent in their prayers for him.

Earlier in his speech, chairman of the Ministry of Works Productivity Merit Award Committee, Mr D.C. Nweneka said the choice of the winners was done through a participatory and transparent process.
