Parading the rescued foreigners before newsmen in Port Harcourt, the new Director of SSS in Rivers State, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje said  that the release of the foreign nationals  followed  sustained pressure mounted by the SSS on the abductors.

“During their stay with their abductors, the command sustained networking with assets/stakeholders in the creeks which put pressure on abductors to release their victims.

“The efforts of the service paid off when the abductors agreed to release the victims to the service”, the Doctor said.

Mr. Agbose also said that while the pressure lasted the command made the safety of  the hostages a priority to avoid any causality.

The new SSS boss assured that his Administration would work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that crime was reduced to the barest minimum in the State.

He however advised those involve in criminal activities in the state to turn in a new  leaf as crime does not pay.
