PDP Rally Stampede: Dame Amaechi Lauds First Lady

Wife of the Rivers State governor, Dame Judith Amaechi has expressed gratitude to Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan for identifying with the state during its trying period.

Dame Amaechi in a statement in Port Harcourt signed by her Media Assistance, Mr Dike Bekwele, said the First Lady’s visit to sympathise with the state and victims of the penultimate Saturday’s stampede in Port Harcourt was a demonstration of her love and motherly disposition to the state.

According to her, “we are humbled by Her Excellency’s visit, especially to the bereaved families and victims of the stampede during the South-South rally. I am really pleased with her show of solidarity and love.”

She stated that the women involved in the stampede were virtuous women, who stood for equity and justice, adding that their visions were to support and vote for the candidates of their choice in winning the April polls, stressing that these wishes will not be allowed to die.

“Those involved in the stampede were virtuous women who stood for their rights and supported the emergence of their candidates in winning the April elections even in death”.

Dame Jonathan visited families of Mrs Ucheoma Wokoma in Erema, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA, Mrs Caroline Enyinda in Ubima, Ikwerre LGA, leader of Tai Legislative Assembly, Late Mr Felix Nwiaga at Botem Tai, Mrs Fanny Micah, at Niger Street in Port Harcourt and commiserated with them on the loss of their beloved ones.
