Nigerian Teenagers Leave Inter For Parma
Nigerian teenagers, Obiora Nwankwo and Joel Obi have are to join Parma from Inter Milan.
Nwankwo, 19, a promising junior international who can play in midfield and at centreback, has been signed to a co-ownership deal.
He leaves immediately to spend the next six months on loan with Parma having the option of buying out the remainder of his registration at the end of the season.
Countryman Joel, also 19, similarly signed on a co-ownership deal, but will remain at Inter Milan for the rest of the season.
Obiora, who joined Inter from Spanish club Real Murcia after short spells each at Nigerian clubs Heartland and Wikki Tourists, made his first team debut in the UEFA Champions League, coming in as a 53rd minute sub for Sulley Muntari and has gone on to make five more appearances for the Nerrazzuri.
He has represented Nigeria at Under-17 and Under-20 levels.
Left midfielder Obi, has been at Inter since leaving Nigeria and made his first team debut in a Serie A game against Cagliari in October 2010, coming in for Philippe Coutinho on 66 minutes.
He has gone on to make seven Serie A appearances, one Coppa Italia and one Champions League for the European champions.
