NECA To Hold Training Programme For Women

The Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) is set to hold a one day capacity building programme in organisation systems, structures and values in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The programme to be organised by NECA’s Women Wing, NECA-Network of Enterpreneural Women (NNEW), is intended to ensure that women entrepreneurs operating in Nigeria are able to run sustainable business in the country.

It is also intended to enable them continue to contribute to the develop of Nigeria’s economy.

In a release made available to newsmen, the coordinator of the SMEs desk at NECA, Ijeoma Iheme, said “Women entrepreneurs will be taken through the training during the NNEW meeting scheduled to hold on February 24, 2011 at NECA’s corporate office Lagos.

“Women entrepreneurs will be trained on how to design an organisational structure which will include basic principles that should be embodied in the structure.

“They will also be taught how the structure should be implement effectively,” Iheme explained.

She continued that the proposed NECA-NNEW training programme is in  line with recent United Nations Statistics which revealed that for Nigeria to reach its full potential in economic and social development, it cannot ignore the importance of its SMEs and their contributions to the country’s economy.
