NASU Urges RSG To Implement 53% Salary Increase
The Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori Branch of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institution (NASU) has called on the Rivers State Government to implement the 53.37% salary increase for the owned staff of the tertiary institution.
This was contained in an address read by the NASU branch chairman, Comrade Levi Eke at the institution recently.
The address read by the NASU chairman also include further request for assistance from the state government and multinational company to adequately fund the Rivers State Polythenic to enable her produce quality middle level manpower for the state and country.
According to him, the RivPoly NASU has put in place welfare scheme for its members adding that “we sincerely appreciate our Rector for his cooperation to facilitate the reality of our dreams. We also congratulate all NASU members for the approval of his welfare scheme recently.
Eke said the union is committed to improving the lives of members, as he called on them to register in order to vote during the forthcoming election.
Also speaking, the Rector of the Polytenic, Professor T.G. Sokari praised the NASU executive for being able to accord their colleagues such regard by organising a send forth for its staff.
He advised that the practice should continue, stressing that it is only in a peaceful atmosphere that such can take place.
He advised some of the retirees in the institution to excel in their future endeavours and called on those still in service to be obedient to constituted authorities and to love one another.
