Hope Party Aspirant Assures On Quality Representation

A House of Assembly aspirant  is for Port Harcourt Constituency 1 on the platform of Hope Democratic Party (HDP), Billing Kinikanwo Klaagbor, has assured the people of the constituency of effective representation if given the mandate in the April polls.

Kalagbor gave the assurance while  addressing the women of ward 8, in the constituency, at Rumukalagor, Port Harcourt, recently.

Describing women as very crucial in any democratic process, he urged them to take advantage  of their numerical strength and “vote wisely in their choice of leaders to have a stake in the polity”.

The aspirant said democracy as a concept implies popular participation, and stated that, “any democratic process devoid of the people’s participation contravenes the ideals of democracy”.

He promised to carry the people along if elected and assured that “direct consultations and periodic  stewardship through town hall meetings will be the hallmark of his tenure as a legislator”.

He  also blamed the lack of political awareness of the people on former legislators in the constituency, whom he said “distanced themselves from the people”, while offering himself as a selfless leader”.

He said Hope Democratic Party was the party needed to bring the desired development in the constituency.

Kalagbor also expressed optimisim over the possibilities of  credible polls in April, and urged the people to turn out enmass to pariticipate in the electoral process.
