The Head of Service of the Federation, Prof Oladapo Afolabi, has described the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) as an organisation with high public reputation, whose personnel must work hard to sustain the image.

He stated this while addressing participants at the retreat on the 2011 FRSC Corporate strategic Objectives organised for officers in the office of the Corps Marshall and Chief Executive of FRSC, Osita Chidoka in Abuja.

The retreat which was an initiative of the Corps Marshall to strategically realign officers working in his office for the task a head, had resource persons drawn from outside the corps, including price water house coopers, a reputable World Class Management Consultant.

The Head of Service, who was there on a different Assignment, said he was attracted to the event because of what he described as the appropriateness of the programme for the success of the ongoing transformation efforts in the public sector.

He commended the Corps Marshall, who he enjoined not to rest on his oars in his desire to transform the corps to a world class organisation.

According to him, “Personnel Management System is a necessary tool for performance measurement in the public sector, but which is presently lacking. So what you are doing is in the right direction and I want to commend you for this”, he said.

He also commended the leadership of the corps for operating an organisation with high public reputation and advised that the FRSC Management must deal decisively with any bad egg that could dent the good image earned by the organisation over the years.
