The Enugu State Government has engaged the services of six estate developers for the execution of its housing estate development projects in parts of the state.

The State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Albert Edoga , disclosed this in a chat with newsmen shortly after inspecting the Hillcrest Housing Estate at the Hilltop along Ugwu Onyeama Mine in Enugu.

Mr. Edoga also revealed that the Hill Crest Housing Estate is being handled by a private estate developer, “ALL TEC Dynamics Global Limited” in partnership with the state government under the Public/Private Partnership arrangement.

According to him, the estate is to house 103 bedroom detached and semi-detached bungalows with central television circuit monitor and public address system for the inhabitants of the area.

He stated that the State Government acquired the land from Uwani Uborji, Ngwo Community and also provided access road to the housing estate as well as other logistics for the commencement of construction work by the contractor.

The commissioner further explained that the ALL TEC Dynamics Global Limited will execute the building project, while the Union Homes Primary Mortgage Institute would handle the sale of the property.

Mr. Edoga, therefore used the occasion to call on civil and public officers as well as residents of the state to avail themselves of the opportunities of government housing programme and own houses, “since they are cheaper and affordable”.

Conducting the Commissioner and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Mr. Ndubisi Eneh, round the estate, the Chief Executive of the private estate developer, Mr. Tony Igwe, promised that the estate would be completed before the end of this year.

According to Mr. Igwe, already a high percent of work on some of the buildings had been completed including internal access road, power supply, water borehole and perimeter fence.

He disclosed that materials used for the buildings and roofing are of high quality while thanking the State Government for engaging the services of his company for the actualisation of its housing programmes in the state
