The invention of Information and Communication Technology, has been described as the overall invention in the 21st century.

A Port Harcourt – based businessman, who deals on ICT materials, Mr. Stanley Amadi Aja, said that the birth of the ICT has added value to both business and education development.

Aja, who spoke with pressmen in Port Harcourt on Wednesday noted that before the invention of ICT, business activities were slow, adding that transactions are now made easier and faster.

According to him, the bottle neck in business information then, discouraged many from doing international business.

Aja pointed out that businessmen and women could now do some healthy transactions with ease due to the presence of ICT.

He also told our reporter that he will site ICT centre in his home town (Omerelu) in order to reduce the problem students suffer during JAMB, WAEC, NECO and other examination registrations.

He revealed that students and other users of the ICT facilities travel some kilometers away from the community before they could gain access to the providers, arguing that such cases will discourage students from examinations registration.

The Omerelu-born business guru, regretted that ICT was not given the required attention, adding that each community in the state ought to have a standard ICT centre.

Meanwhile, he has called on telecommunication providers, to still reduce their tariffs in order to attract more customers.

The Tide gathered that if Mr. Aja’s plan is anything to go by, Omerelu in Ikwerre Local Government of the state may be the first rural community to enjoy a standard ICT.
