2011: Gov Amaechi Signs N415bn Budget For Rivers
The Rivers State Appropriation Law, of 2011 has been signed into law by Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
The Budget, which is N1billion higher than the N414billion proposal presented to the Assembly by Governor Amaechi, was signed into Law at a brief ceremony at Government House, Port Harcourt, Friday.
Performing the brief signing ceremony, Governor Amaechi commended members of the State legislature for the early passage of the bill, declaring that the executive would implement the 2011 Law to move the state forward.
The 2011 budget christened “Budget of Consolidation” according to Governor Amaechi was targeted at completing all on-going projects in the state in the interest of its citizenry, as only new projects are catered for in this year budget.
It would be recalled that Governor Amaechi presented a total figure of about N414billion as Budget proposals to the State House of Assembly, but the lawmakers increased the figure to N415 billion, with only N1billion above the original figure.
