Umuahia South PDP To Sustain One-term Rotation

The Peoples  Democratic Party (PDP) in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia has resolved to sustain the one-term rotation of elective offices.

The PDP members who held an end-of-the-year meeting on Monday in Umuahia, included Mr Vincent Ogbulafor, a former PDP national chairman, Senator Chris Adighije and Chief CSL Nwosu, a former secretary to the Abia government.

They also included Chief John Iruke, the former chairman of Abia State Universal Basic Education Board, Chief Iroabuchi Iromuanya, Dr Rose Ekeleme, a former commissioner for education and Chief Greg Amajioyi, the Chairman of Anambra/Imo River Basin Authority.

Others were Chief Emeka Inyama, who presided over the occasion, seven ward chairmen and party delegates as well as 12 local government PDP executives.

Inyama said that the PDP members in the area were ready and determined to work for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Theodore Orji of Abia.

The stakeholders resolved that it was the turn of Olokoro clan to produce the council’s chairman, Umuokpara clan to produce the house of assembly member and Ubakala has the post of the council’s vice-chairman.

Olokoro produced the current member of the House of Assembly in 2007, Ubakala had the council’s chairman, Umuokpara got the vice- chairman and the local government party chairman.

Inyama urged the delegates to go in one direction and decide the fate of anybody seeking to negate the unanimous resolution on rotation in the area.
