NNPP Boss Tasks Rivers On Voters Registration
The Rivers State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Deacon Enyi Princewill, has called on indigenes and residents of the state to troop out enmasse and register during the forthcoming voters registration exercise.
Princewill gave the charge in an exclusive interview with The Tide at the party’s national secretariat during the party convention in Lagos.
The NNPP boss said, “this is the only way to check being disenfranchised in the next general election, adding that the dream of Nigerians to have a vibrant democracy could only be achieved when true democrats rise up to the tasks of rebuilding the Nigerian polity.
According to him, credible and rancour- free elections would depend on a valid voters register. He said, “we are consequently advising our people everywhere at home and in the Diaspora to lead the war during this crucial national programme.
Speaking on the party’s strength, Princewill stated, “NNPP is very strong in all the 23 local government areas of the state. Although we are still facing some challenges, I am bold to state that concerted effort is in progress to win some electoral seats in the state. We have embarked on a massive membership drive to break PDP strong holds in Rivers State.”
He also commended President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for his transparency and people-oriented programmes.
