NAATO Members To Face Qualifying Exams
The basic training and qualifying examination for members of Nigeria Association of Athletics Technical Officials (NAATO), Rivers State chapter have been slated to hold in Port Harcourt at the University of Port Harcourt Complex from tomorrow through 22nd of this month.
Belema Dakoru, the Rivers Chairman of the association in the state made this known in his opening address during the inauguration of patrons and end of year celebration in Port Harcourt.
According to him, members were prepared to face the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) for the examination, adding that the chapter have about 76 registered members.
“I can comfortably tell you that today, the chapter can boast of 76 registered members prepared to face AFN basic training and qualifying examination” Dakoru said.
He described the qualifying examination as important because any member that passes the examination will be recognised internationally and can be invited to officiate in tournaments within and outside the country.
The Chairman used the forum to thank members who made it possible to ensure that NAATO was inaugurated in the state, most especially, Chief Nemi Adoki, who convened the first meeting in October 2008.
