Lawmaker Pledges More Dividends For Tai
Member representing Tai in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Mrs Felicia Tane has pledged her commitment to attract more dividends of Democracy to the area if she is given the mandate at the general polls.
Mrs Tane who made the pledge shortly after emerging the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Tai constituency for the Assembly job however thanked the people for the confidence reposed on her. She assured that her second tenure in the State Assembly would facilitate the development of the area to improve the lots of the people.
The female legislator listed some of the projects she embarked upon to include a neighbourhood water scheme for communities in Tai, a befitting secretariat for the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) women empowerment and scholarship scheme for Nursery and primary pupils, Town halls projects for some communities in Tai and a regular football competition among youths in the area to scout for football talents and keep idle hands busy.
Also speaking the PDP Returning Officer for the primaries, Mr. Anthony Biragbara thanked delegates for Orerly conduct throughout the duration of the primaries.
He also congratulated Hon. Taneh for her victory.
The Tai Council Chairman, Chief Hon. Bari Mpige thanked the people for the peaceful conduct describing the primaries as the most peaceful since the creation of Tai LGA.
Also speaking, the PDP Chairman in the area, Mr. Peter Gwezia thanked the people for the peaceful conduct during the primaries.
