Project Nigeria, a non-governmental organination, has purchased 12 buses and jeeps for the President Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo campaign in the South-East.

The Founder of project Nigeria, Chief Athan Achonu. while displaying the vehicles at the Umunumu, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo last Thursday, told newsmen that it was campaign support by the group.

Achonu added that the vehicles would be deployed to mobilise support, especially in the rural areas of Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra for the realisation of Jonathan/Sambo 2011 presidential ambition.

He said that they would be distributed to the various chapters of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and other youth organisations partnering with the group in the five states.

“Project Nigeria is about good candidates and good governance and not concerned about any particular political party.

“We are committed to the emergence of Jonathan and other candidates that will bring development and radical changes in Nigeria,” he added and urged Nigerians to vote Jonathan into power.

Achonu called on prospective voters in the region to register, reminding them that it was only when they registered as voters that they would be empowered to vote for the candidates of their choice.

Earlier, the National President of NANS, Comrade Jude Imogwe, said that the association would mobilise students across the federation to vote for Jonathan, and called on Nigerians to support the course.

“Our support for Jonathan cannot be compromised because he is our own; he has gone through the university system and has passion for good education.

“He has a poor parental background which makes him to understand poverty very well and Nigeria needs this kind of person as president now for the country to move forward,” he added.
