Enugu Re-elects Okenwa As FA Chairman

Chidi Offor-Okenwa has been re-elected Chairman of the Enugu State Football Association.

Okenwa was returned unopposed with all 21 delegates from the 17 Local Government Areas and four representatives of coaches, referees, Premier, amateur and Female Leagues voting for him.

Godwin Ede, who scored 19 votes was elected vice-chairman. Others elected are Innocent Obiekwu, Dominic Nwobodo former Rangers striker, Abuchi Onuenyi and P.I. Okeke.

Okenwa pledged that the new executive would take football to greater height in the state.

He promised that the FA would ensure efficient coaching and management and ensure there were changes in the administration of the game in the state.

He commended the Electoral Committee for conducting a hitch-free poll.

The electoral committee was headed by Emeka Asogwa, while former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, and Enugu State Sports Council Director of Sports (Information), Emeka Eze served as observers.

Chukwu, who represented the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), later inaugurated the new FA.
