Nigerian Primer League leaders, Dolphins of Port Harcourt has placed two of its players, Tochukwu Okoli and Omo Ojabu on an indefinite suspension.

According to club sources, the decision to suspend the duo was taken in a bid to instil discipline and maintain the focus of the team in the ongoing football season.

In a letter signed by the Secretary of the club, Ahmed Abdulraman, which was made available to Tidesports yesterday, the two players were said to have left the club’s camp without permission.

‘The two players are guilty of leaving camp without permission. It is an act of gross indiscipline and disrespect for constituted authority, which is capable of affecting the entire team if unchecked”, said Abdularham in the statement.

He further stated that the suspension would be without pay as the players had been warned verbally on several occasions.

The players were asked to vacate the club’s camp immediately and submit all club’s property in their possession to the team, welfare officer, camp commandant or curator.

It will be recalled that Ojabu and Okoli joined Dolphins in the 2008/2009 season.

Ojabu played for the national Under-17 team that won silver at the U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria two years ago, he is currently with the Flying Eagles, preparing for the Africa Youth Championship, AYC in Sudan.

Meanwhile, Dolphins are currently in fine form in the premier league, leading the log with 24 points.
