Civil Servants Seek Better Working Environment
Civil servants in Ogun State have urged the state government to provide the necessary working tools for its ministries and agencies to enhanced productivity.
They made the call in a communiqué issued at the end of a 4-day training workshop on Strategic Reporting and Memo Writing for senior officers in the state civil service, held on Thursday in Abeokuta.
The communiqué, signed by Mr Bolaji Amusu, Head, Bureau of Training and Establishment, also called for the provision of more Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in ministries and agencies.
It stressed the need to include young officers in training in speech writing and reporting.
It also called for the organisation of training on political interference in human relations for permanent secretaries and political office holders.
It said that agencies of government should have yearly input in the human capacity building programmes of the state bureau of establishment and training.
Calling for train-the-trainer programme, the officers recommended that professional training be given priority to ensure higher productivity and effectiveness of professional officers in the service.
The officers, who stressed the need for improved information management in government agencies, noted that it would ease the process of information gathering and dissemination as well as reduce stress at work.
