Change Advocacy Party (CAP) has adopted Mr Nnamdi Anigbo as its gubernatorial candidate for Enugu State in the April elections.

Anigbo, the sole candidate, was adopted during Saturday’s primaries of the party held in Enugu.

Speaking after his adoption, Anigbo pledged to transform the living standards of women and youths in the state, if elected in the April polls.

“There is no limit to the good which the party can offer. We will bring in changes in Enugu State; we will also make the crooked ways straight,” he said.

Anigbo said that his administration would initiate a five-point agenda with focus on healthcare delivery, security, education, human and infrastructure development.

He urged all the youths to register as voters and vote for CAP so as to foster a meaningful development in the state.

Anigbo, however, told newsmen that INEC officials did not witness the party primaries because they were busy distributing the Direct Data Capture (DDC) machines to voter registration centres across the state.

“INEC officials said that we should compile the results and bring them to their office for confirmation,” he said.

The state CAP Chairman, Mr Valentine Adani, said that the adoption of Anigbo signified was the party’s unity of purpose.

“The party did not impose candidates on the people; rather, we observed the principles of internal democracy,’’ he said.

Adani, nonetheless, said that Anigbo was the best governorship candidate for the party, adding that his shining qualities were the rationale behind his adoption.

The National CAP Chairman, Mr Lewis Abba, said that the party would ensure the fulfillment of the 35 per-cent affirmative action for women’s representation in all elective and appointive posts, as contained in the party’s constitution.

“We will consider giving women equal chances as those given to men in the party,’’ Abba said.

Abba urged youths to support the party because of its determination to promote their interests.
