The six accused are Innocent Igila, 37, Ojo Adeyemi, 32, Abel Shenom, 31, John Ukweze, 35, Peter Udem, 31, Ezekiel Luka, 24, and Stephen Ubi, 32, now at large.

The accused are standing trial on a six-count charge of inciting disturbance, mischief, criminal intimidation, rioting, theft and joint act.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Clement Egwu, told the court that the complainant, Mr Zakari Ahmadu, the Chief Security Officer of the Chinese company, reported the incident to the Life Camp Police Station.

He said that the accused conspired and threatened to kill all the expatriates in the company.

Clement said the complainant also reported that the accused allegedly damaged the company’s vehicles, equipment and other property.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the six-count charge levelled against them.

Their lawyer, Mr Akin Adewale, prayed the court to grant them bail.

In her ruling, Magistrate Jacinta Okeke, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

Okeke said the sureties must be civil servants and must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
