The Umudioga community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, has passionately appealed to the State Governor, Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi to situate one of the Primary Health centres being built around  communities  in the state in the community.

Making the appeal during a free medical out-reach programme organised by a team of missionaries based  in Port Harcourt, Christian Fellowship and Wholistic  mission, in that community, the paramount ruler, HRH, Eze G.P Onyeka, Nje-New-Eli Umudioga, lamented the lack of health facility in the community, which he pointed out had led to avoidable deaths.

He expressed regret that most deaths recorded in the community were as a result of preventable  ailments such as High Blood Pressure (HBP), while the rate of infant  and maternal deaths could not be qualified, saying that most deliveries were taken by untrained Traditional birth attendants (TBAs).

Eze  Onyeka  also stated that for over 200 years of existence of his community had hardly felt the impact of government, stressing  that for a community with 28 oil wells they are grossly neglected and appealed to this  administration to redress the situation.

While commending Governor Amaechi for his good works, he complained that the contractor handling   the model primary school, had abandoned the project over two yeares ago.

He also appealed that Nye-Nwe-Eli Omudioga, throne be upgraded to first   class  in the state.

The group treated people with HBP and donated drugs and other household utesils  as well as scholarship to brilliant  indigent students.
